VGA / TV adapter with ATmega

Maxim Rafikovich Ibragimov has published this circuit a few years ago, but it is still very good source of information and inspiration.

Maxim has made a circuit based on the ATmega16 microcontroller. His circuit can generate both VGA and TV (PAL) signal and displays 20 chars x 20 lines on VGA, resp. 38 chars in 20 lines (PAL). It communicates with world by RS-232 interface, so it can be used e.g. as the TV/VGA display for embedded devices.
